Ever Had Mammography Test
Variable Definition
Defined as at least one mammogram received at any time in the woman’s life. Only available amongst females. Mammography is the radiological inspection of the breast tissue looking for agglomeration of calcified tissue which, depending on the pattern, could be suggestive of early stages of malignant tissue transformation that could turn with time into breast cancer. This intervention is extensively available in low-complex health care services, easily to perform by health practitioners, and targeted to all women within a certain age. Thus, measures on coverage of mammogram tests are frequently used as an indicator of accessibility to preventive resources within women’s population.
