Variable Definition
Presence of hypertension diagnosis by a health care provider among all adults, where adult fe-male respondents who report a hypertension diagnosis during pregnancy are considered to be non-hypertensive. A survey participant is classified as having hypertension if they report having been told by a physician or health care provider that they have high blood pressure or hyperten-sion. This is referred to as Hypertension version 1 (V1).
