Variable Definition

The ever pregnant variable indicates whether adult female respondents indicate that they have ever been pregnant. Pregnancies include all pregnancies including pregnancies that did not come to full term such as premature birth, miscarriage, stillborn, and/or abortion. The universe is all female adults ages 18-49. We limited the age range to 18-49 because almost all of the surveys with pregnancy history only ask the questions amongst females in this age range.
